NFI welcomes members from international English medium schools who are accredited or authorised by a recognised agency outside the host country.

We seek member schools who are committed to international-mindedness and intercultural competence and value inclusion.  Member schools reflect these values in their mission and vision.

Individual membership is available to elementary and secondary school educators and co-professionals currently employed in internationally accredited schools or as consultants working in the field of international education.

Individual membership is available on an annual basis.

Individual members:

  • Hold an internationally recognised teaching qualification that enables them to teach worldwide, or be co-professionals holding an internationally recognised qualification in their area of expertise.
  • Demonstrate a personal experience in an international school setting and a commitment to international-mindedness and intercultural competence and values inclusion.
  • Individuals applying from internationally accredited schools are encouraged to request their school to join NFI as a full member in order to take advantage of all the membership benefits.

We will then send an invoice with payment options.

Annual memberships are for 12-months from October to October.

Andrew Bumgarner

Originally from North Carolina, I bring a slight drawl, a healthy dose of Southern hospitality, and a deep commitment to inclusive education wherever I go. With a special education and school leadership background, my career has been driven by one central belief: that thoughtfully integrated technology can transform learning for students with unique learner profiles.

I’ve led student support programs in the U.S., Thailand, China, Paraguay, Switzerland, and now Hong Kong, always with a collaborative mindset and a focus on meeting the needs of diverse learners. What excites me most is the growing potential of instructional technology to remove barriers, personalize instruction, and empower students to engage with content in ways that work for them.

I hold master’s degrees in School Administration (Western Carolina University) and Special Education (University of North Carolina at Charlotte), and am currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Instructional Technology at Appalachian State University. My research centers on how generative AI can enhance curriculum accessibility for all students.

Outside the classroom, I’m happiest on a trail run or spending time with my family, which keeps me grounded and energized for the work I love.
